The final month of the southwest monsoon season in India is halfway past, and yet the rainfall statistics recorded by the northwestern states remain well below average. Owing to prolonged dry spells, even the national capital has registered a whopping 88% rainfall deficit so far this September, having recorded just 6.3 mm precipitation against its normal of 54.4 mm.

With such parched conditions, every time it rains in Delhi, eager Delhiites leave no stone unturned to enjoy the wet weather. Evidence for the same can be seen on social media, which gets flooded with #DelhiRain memes, mesmerising photos, and videos of rain dances after every major spell.

A video of one such rain dance posted on social media earlier this month has fetched over 4 lakh likes and grabbed the attention of 40 lakhs netizens in just two weeks — all because it stars a delightful dancing doggo!

The video features a therapy dog from Delhi-NCR who ran up to the terrace the minute it began drizzling, but patiently waited for its pet parent to open the door. And then, as if the gates to heaven were opened, an excited Whiskers began hoofing to glory.

Whiskers obviously seems to excel at his job as a therapy dog, having easily lifted the moods of tens of thousands of people across social media.

Do you enjoy the rains as much as Whiskers does?
