After just shy of three years, Camila Cabello is ready to break free of her Los Angeles home. Primely perched in the Hollywood Hills high above the bustling Sunset Strip, the property is offered with a nearly $4 million list price. The “Havana” and “Señorita” hitmaker paid about $3.4 million for the 3,500-square-foot structure back in April 2019; while it appears she’s already vacated the premises, there are certainly plenty of decor remnants from her stay.
Astute real estate watchers may recall that Cabello experienced some bad luck at this house. Back in March, her longtime boyfriend Shawn Mendes’ prized new G-Wagen was stolen from the driveway — while the couple was at home, no less — by a particularly ballsy burglar. (The car was soon recovered and the thief presumably thrown in the pokey.) As such, the property now boasts a state-of-the-art security system with multiple cameras, alarms, a “prewired intercom system” and surround sound, per the listing.
Because the 6,300-square-foot lot is notably long and narrow, the circa-1970s house is likewise long and narrow. Guests out front are greeted by a two-car garage and security gate; behind the gate lies a tree-shaded courtyard and a brief walkway to the front door. Beyond that, a voluminous foyer spills out into the adjoining living and family rooms, the former with a tile-surround fireplace and the latter with a wall of retractable glass doors opening directly to the backyard pool area.
Also on the main level is a renovated kitchen with top-of-the-line stainless appliances and stone countertops, plus a casual breakfast area and separate formal dining room with garden views. And then there’s a spare bedroom that Cabello converted into a high-tech recording studio, naturally, with a full array of pricey equipment.
Upstairs, the home’s middling level houses two large guest bedrooms, both with ensuite baths and private balconies. Above that lies the penthouse level, which is dedicated entirely to the primary bedroom suite — it boasts a fireplace, sitting area, walk-in closet and spa-like bathroom with dual sinks and a freestanding bathtub. Views take in the lush yard, which is admittedly rather compact but packed with desirable amenities — besides the swimming pool, there’s plenty of patio space, plus an outdoor fireplace and outdoor bar/kitchen/BBQ center. For celeb-style privacy, the entire property is surrounded by mature evergreen trees, obscuring any neighborly sightlines into the place.
No word yet about the next stop for Cabello’s real estate train, but she and Mendes were reportedly house hunting in Miami as recently as last winter. Denise Rosner of Compass has the L.A. listing.
