Information in the Sheriff’s Blotter is gathered from the dispatch logs provided by the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office. No individual’s names are reported. And those arrested should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The following is a summary of activity for June 4-7, 2022

5:41 a.m. Delleker. A caller reports a baby bear is in the area of Bella Vista Drive and is crying.

7:40 a.m. Meadow Valley. A caller reports a power pole is down on a shed and sparking on Bucks Lake Road. Meadow Valley Fire was paged. 7:48 a.m. PG&E reports a pole is down and sparking. PG&E is not on the scene -they were driving to a different location and saw the pole. 7:55 a.m. USFS copies and is sending an engine. 8:11 a.m. PG&E advises a unit is on the way, but ETA is 1.5 hours. 8:27 a.m. MV Fire requests if PG&E shut off the power remotely. 8:44 a.m. Fire advises PG&E shut off power and USFS is taking over. Local Fire was released.

Over a thousand pedal to Lake Davis area

7:44 a.m. Portola. Gravel Grinder is staged. Beckwourth Fire has established “Sierra IC” for this event. 8:02 a.m. A Sgt. advised the first group of riders have started the race. 8:27 a.m. A Sgt. requests a case number for a bike theft. 6:09 p.m. Sierra IC is clear from the event.

8:18 a.m. Chilcoot. A caller advises his phone was “hacked” and “they” are calling the Sheriff’s Office. The caller said there is no emergency – they disconnected.  The call was pinned to a spot on Hwy 70.

8:47 a.m. Blairsden. A caller reports their sister is missing. She was supposed to go to the bluegrass festival in Blairsden and never came home. A deputy is on a landline with the caller collecting information. 9:32 a.m. The caller advised the subject has returned. No further assistance is needed.

9:03 a.m. Portola. A caller reports 3 kids are under the bridge standing on tracks throwing rocks at the train. The caller is concerned for their safety. It is unknown if they are male or female but one is in light clothing and two are in dark clothing. 9:25 a.m. A Sgt. advises the juveniles were gone upon arrival.

9:08 a.m. Blairsden. A caller is concerned about a gathering on Little Bear Road; there are no known permits. It is a gathering of about 500-600 people. It is supposed to be private property. The caller advises there is a traffic issue. People are in the street, there is excessive alcohol, there are tents and campers. The caller is concerned about fire danger. 9:15 a.m. The caller as well as another community member have now called dispatch with their concerns. The Sheriff’s Office was unaware of the event. 9:42 a.m. The information was shared with CHP. 9:56 a.m. A deputy advised that Code Enforcement was notified. The Sgt. will notify the supervisor.

Number one: don’t go number two

9:11 a.m. Quincy. A local business reports a female trespassing on their land at the end of Andy’s Way, camping and defecating on the property. 9:43 a.m. A deputy contacted the known subjects (3) and all parties have agreed to move along by 3 p.m.

Love-love, no winners in this game

9:47 a.m. Quincy. A deputy advised coming upon a small traffic collision near the tennis courts at the high school. It is a non-injury accident. CHP was requested. The CHP unit is coming from Blairsden and Hwy 89. 10:28 a.m. The deputy assisted the party who is okay and on her way.

Effects of frequent earthquakes perhaps

10:25 a.m. Taylorsville. A caller reports a neighbor trespassing. The neighbor is disputing the property line and has moved the caller’s property. The caller has confirmed with the title company that it is her property.

Annual migration, starting a tradition

11:15 a.m. Chester. A caller reports a suspicious male on the property. The caller believes he has been kicked off the property last year. The subject is a bald man in a black shirt and black pants. 11:25 a.m. A deputy attempted to contact the subject at a trailer in Acid Alley. The vehicle is a white Cadillac. 11:44 a.m. The deputy advises a known subject has been trespassed from the property.

12:37 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a lost wallet between East Main St. and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. It is brown with pockets on the inside and a clip for cash. There are cards only, no cash. The caller requests the information on file in case it gets turned in.

1:35 p.m. Johnsville. A caller reports hearing multiple gun shots in the area, they are possibly target shooting. The caller stated shooting is not permitted in the area due to it being Plumas Eureka State Park. 1:56 p.m. A Sgt. was given the location, as well to Fish & Wildlife to dispatch a Park Ranger. 2:13 p.m. State Parks requests the Sheriff’s Office respond; their closest unit is 2 hours away. 2:14 p.m. A Sgt. advised there is no one in position.

Sharp (as in edgy) shopper

2:44 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a female behind Grocery Outlet is harassing people to buy her things and making strange statements. The subject is in a long-sleeved Batman shirt and baseball cap. 3:33 p.m. A known person contacted via 911 and said he heard his name on a scanner. He said the subject showed up to his house last night with a friend and was refusing to leave today but he does not know who she is and wants her gone. The caller is calling from Twain. The call was transferred to a deputy. 3:38 p.m. A deputy advised contacting the known female who agreed to move along.

3:31 p.m. Delleker. A caller reports the homeowner of a residence is in ICU, but a neighbor told the caller that people have been in and out of his house when no one is supposed to be there. The victim is (famous deceased movie star name). The caller is requesting a call back. 3:35 p.m. The caller says she is currently in Oregon but is possibly going to have a friend go put locks on the door to keep people out. 4:42 p.m. The caller recontacted and said a neighbor went to the home to get valuables out of the home and the subject’s wallet and checkbook are missing. 5:06 p.m. East units were given the location. 8:25 p.m. A deputy contacted the caller who advised the wallet has been found. The caller is next of kin and will come to town and check the residence for any possible stolen property.

Possession, not occupation, is 9/10 of the law

4:45 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a female subject has been in the store for hours and has now locked herself in the bathroom. 5:07 p.m. A deputy advised the subject has been trespassed from the property.

6:59 p.m. Graeagle. A caller reports loud music has been playing in the area at some sort of party for the past 3 hours. The caller said the music is shaking her windows. 7:51 p.m. A deputy contacted the parties at a residence who are celebrating a 20th anniversary. They agreed to turn the music down for the night.

8:33 p.m. Lake Almanor. A deputy pulled over a vehicle with 3 occupants in a Toyota 4-Runner in Prattville in front of Plumas Pines and requests CHP. CHP has no units in the area. The driver was arrested on a charge of drunk driving.

Can’t believe what you see in the movies?

8:50 p.m. Greenville. A caller reports multiple subjects in 3 vehicles cut a chain that was blocking the road to private property and drove on to the property behind Alta Camp Apartments. The vehicles are a white Chevy truck, a grey Chevy truck, and a grey car. It is unknown how many subjects. The caller watched the incident from his security cameras. 9:46 p.m. The location was given to a deputy. June 5, 12:36 a.m. A deputy was unable to locate anyone in the area or a cut chain in the area.

11:34 a.m. Quincy. A caller on Chandler Road reports a neighbor has been shining a light at his residence. The caller has a current Restraining order in place and requests a call back. June 5, 12:10 a.m. A Sgt. advised a light is shining towards the caller’s residence. The information is on file.

1:10 a.m. Cromberg. A caller requests deputy assistance for a female who refuses to get off the bus. The caller has asked her multiple times to leave, and she refuses. 1:14 a.m. The caller said the female got off the bus.

4:37 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports a bear is in the area by the Gold Pan Motel and the bike path near campers. The info was sent to Fish & Wildlife.

8:10 a.m. Chester. A unit reports a male walking along the road carrying a rifle near the Hwy 36/89 intersection walking toward Chester. The subject is 6’ tall, 190 pounds, wearing jeans and a tank top, and a cowboy hat. 8:12 a.m. CHP is on the way from Westwood. 8:34 a.m. The subject was identified as out of Placer County. 8:50 a.m. A deputy advised the subject was cited for a warrant in Placer County. The deputy will store the rifle at the Chester Substation and provide transport of the subject to the gas station so the subject can make phone calls regarding vehicle trouble. 9:16 a.m. Confirmed with Lincoln Police Department that the subject has not been cited on current location. Placer County confirmed citing the subject. 9:36 a.m. A deputy advised the subject is to return to the Chester Substation for the firearm and citing information.

11:16 a.m. Portola. A caller reports receiving information that gang members from Oroville are coming to hurt her boyfriend. The caller said that she received information from a female via Facebook. The caller said her boyfriend is with her now. 12:09 p.m. A deputy contacted the caller. The caller is unable to provide specific suspect information or details, all threat information is third hand via Facebook with unknown individuals. The deputy advised the caller requests the information be on file and that there be extra patrol checks in the area.

12:12 p.m. Graeagle. A caller reports a bear in the area of the Mill Pond. The caller said the bear ran off and she can no longer see it. The information was provided to Fish & Wildlife.

2:04 p.m. Beckwourth. A caller reports unsafe shooting near her home. They are shooting toward Hwy 70. The caller said it has been going on for the last few weeks. There is shooting with a high-powered rifle today. The subject and address were provided. 2:42 p.m. A deputy contacted the caller. The deputy advised the caller to request the information be on file.

Another one bites the dust

3:12 p.m. Taylorsville. CHP advises a tree fell on a PG&E power pole and is blocking the roadway at Arlington Road near the Taylorsville Museum and bridge. Fluid is leaking on the roadway. CHP requested a Fire response. 3:15 p.m. Indian Valley Fire and Crescent Mills Fire were paged. PG&E was notified. 3:24 p.m. The Forest Service reports that there is no power at Mount Hough Lookout. 3:31 p.m. CHP and PG&E to handle.

Everybody is on the lookout

3:27 p.m. Chilcoot. A caller reports suspicious circumstances in Dixie Valley. The caller was on a back road and encountered a male subject up in the woods. He was a single male in a grey Toyota Tacoma truck. He appeared to be excessively dirty and was acting suspicious. 4:43 p.m. The information was given to USFS, and they will respond.

And the band played on

3:37 p.m. Blairsden. A caller requests deputy contact regarding an event at Little Bear Road. The caller is concerned about possible permit violations and approximately 200 cars in the area. 4:18 p.m. Code Enforcement has been notified.

3:43 p.m. Quincy. A gas station employee reports a female causing a disturbance wearing jeans and a bra top, acting erratically, walking around with one shoe. The subject is 30-35 years old with brown hair that is partially shaved and no vehicle. 3:56 p.m. A Sgt. advised the subject refused to provide name but agreed to move along. 4:06 p.m. A second caller advised the subject is now standing in the middle of the road on Cemetery Hill acting erratic. 4:07 p.m. CHP advised they are on a call and request a deputy respond. 4:17 p.m. A Sgt. contacted the subject, who was not in the roadway, and advised her to stay out of the roadway and move along. 4:23 p.m. Multiple 911 calls came in about a female in the roadway on Hwy 70 in front of Les Schwab. 4:25 p.m. A unit is out with the subject. 5:31 p.m. The subject was issued a violation for public intoxication.

6:32 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a bear in the dumpster behind the Plumas Club. While on the line the caller said the bear left headed toward Railway. The information was sent to Fish & Wildlife. 6:46 p.m. A caller reports the bear is on Andy’s Way by the tow yard and going through garbage. 6:57 p.m. The location was given to a deputy. 7:11 p.m. A deputy advised the bear is in a tree.

11:19 p.m. Quincy. A male subject was arrested during a probation check and charged with a probation violation and possession of methamphetamine.

9:45 a.m. Portola. A caller reports a female transient by the caboose. 10:06 a.m. A deputy contacted a known female who was counseled.

I’ve got my suspicions

10:02 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports he is concerned about possible drug activity on Lawrence Street.

10:46 a.m. Quincy. A caller requests a civil standby to contact a tenant that is trying to move someone in without permission. 11:04 a.m. A deputy advised the standby is complete.

1:07 p.m. Portola. A deputy received a report that a known female and male are harassing people at the park. 1:34 p.m. A deputy advised the parties were in a verbal argument with another known person who requested the information on file and requests nothing further and the suspects were counseled.

3:56 p.m. Gold Lake Lodge. A caller reports a dead bear in the roadway on Gold Lake Highway.

Too far off the baseline

6:01 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a violation of a restraining order. A named subject keeps driving by the softball field honking his horn in a grey sedan. The subject is currently parked at the third base bleachers at Story Field sitting in his vehicle. 7:03 p.m. The subject was issued a probation violation.

6:18 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a bear in their carport. The caller is unable to get the bear to leave. The call was transferred to Fish & Wildlife. 6:33 p.m. The caller requested an ETA from Fish & Wildlife who advised her they were responding.  6:36 p.m. The caller called 911 again, and said Fish & Wildlife told her they won’t be responding. There is no warden in the area. They request that a deputy respond. 6:39 p.m. A deputy was given the location but is on a call. 6:47 p.m. The caller said she isn’t able to leave her house because the bear is still there. The caller was advised the deputies are on a call but will respond when they can. 7:59 p.m. A deputy advised the bear has moved on for now.

7:33 p.m. Chilcoot. A caller reports the neighbors Pit bulls are out and attacked her dogs. The dogs are still out; the gate to the neighbor’s yard is open. The last name of the subject is known. 7:59 p.m. The location was given to a deputy. 9:15 p.m. A deputy contacted the victim, and her dog is dead, a 3-year-old chihuahua named “Poppy.” The subject dogs are a black St. Bernard/Rottweiler/Pit named “Zena” and a brown blue/red Pit mix named “Catness”. The owner was identified. The deputy contacted Animal Control and they will follow up.

7:34 p.m. Portola. A caller reports someone keeps entering his house. Had to put the caller on hold to answer other lines and the caller hung up. 7:48 p.m. The caller reports “Carl” keeps coming into his residence and requests a call back. 8:07 p.m. A deputy was told by the caller that a subject still has a trailer on the property which the caller gave the subject two weeks to remove. A trespass warning has been given to the subject for the residence and front porch of the residence.

10:18 p.m. Chester. A caller reports suspicious activity of stripping cars for parts and other suspicious activity at an address. The caller wants someone to look into this and he is worried for his safety. It is unknown who the subjects are. 11 p.m. A deputy contacted the caller who just wants information on file regarding people moving boxes and vehicles at night. The caller was not able to give further information to document his suspicions. The caller requests patrol checks of the area. The information was faxed to the Chester Substation.

Can’t bear it anymore

10:48 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports two bears on their property in the garbage can outside on Main St.

11:41 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a large bear in Grover Alley walking down the alley. The info was sent to Fish & Wildlife.

12:16 a.m. Portola. A caller reports a drunk driver in front of the Red and White, parked there now. The vehicle is a black Mustang (license plate provided). The driver is a female with blonde hair. The location was provided to a deputy. 12:31 a.m. A deputy contacted the subject inside the store-not in the vehicle. No one in the area witnessed the subject driving. The subject has a sober driver. 1:25 a.m. A second call from the caller advised she watched the female subject get back into the driver’s seat and drive to the Bank Club. The subject is currently sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle in front of the Bank Club. 1:28 a.m. A deputy was provided the location.  The subject was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

12:33 a.m. Lake Almanor. A caller reports there are people in her bushes, and she wants a patrol check of the area on Almanor Drive West. Dispatch can hear a male in the background. The caller is refusing to give her name. She advises that the people in the bushes could be several government agencies. The caller is possibly intoxicated or on drugs. She would not answer any questions, just kept asking for a patrol check of the area. 1:02 a.m. the caller called back on 911, she is out at the lake. She thinks she is being chased. She was advised to go back to the house. The caller was asked to describe her clothing but refused to give any information. She seems very confused. 1:06 a.m. The caller disconnected then called back. she is very confused and unable to give her location. The location was pinned using the phone. 1:06 a.m. A second 911 caller called in with name and number. He is with the caller but does not know who she is. He pickd her up in Chester at the gas station and took her to his residence. The caller said she is acting strange and has a mask and headlamp on advising people are following her. She is possibly on drugs. The subject left on foot. The subject has been providing the caller with several different names. The caller is now near a specified address on Almanor Drive West. 1:12 a.m. The caller called back and said she is at the check-in for the cabins but is pinning elsewhere. She will not stay in the area; she believes she is being followed and refusing to stay in one place. 1:17 a.m. The caller is now knocking on doors, she is refusing to stay in one. 1:20 a.m. The caller is now heading northbound. When she was asked a direct question, she is refusing to answer. 1:24 a.m. Dispatch disconnected with caller because she would not stop talking with the deputy. 1:38 a.m. The caller called again on 911 and said that the deputy is being physical and requests an ambulance for heart problems then disconnected the line. The caller is calling from several doors down the street and this time parties are back at the residence and agreed to keep the peace. 1:40 a.m. A deputy advised the caller does not need an ambulance. Nothing further at this time. 1:50 a.m. A deputy advised the male half does not know the caller. She gave several names and refused all other information. 3:35 a.m. The caller is calling back and requests an ambulance. She is having chest pain and shortness of breath and that people are in the bushes again. 3:42 a.m. Seneca called to get further information on the caller who told them that she feels threatened. Seneca said they will have medical respond. 3:47 a.m. The caller called to advise that people are still in the bushes. 3:48 a.m. The caller called 911 again and requests that she speak with medical personnel until the ambulance arrives. The call was transferred back to SIFC. 3:51 a.m. The caller is calling back again on 911. She is still at the address, and she is worried for her safety. She requested to stay on the line until the ambulance arrives. 3:56 a.m. The caller disconnected the line. 4:52 a.m. Called SIFC to see if they were able to get any info on the caller and were advised to contact the Emergency Room. Called Seneca Emergency Room; the female is very uncooperative and has not provided them with any info. 7:39 a.m. Seneca advises the subject was just released. She refused all medical care and would not provide any information.

9:22 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports while hiking along Cemetery Hill he found a purse with the contents spread out: a jar of baby food and other miscellaneous items. It was possibly illegal dumping. It was found on the dirt road on the north side of Cemetery Walk Road behind the cemetery. “Look to the right,” on the dirt road. 11:40 a.m. A deputy advises he hiked half way up the hill and was unable to locate the purse. He did find other trash piles.

12:37 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports an injured deer just east of Polka Dot on Hwy 70.

2:35 p.m. Quincy. A caller out at the airport requests extra patrol checks late at night and early morning. There is a suspicious vehicle parked at her hanger every morning. The subject is possibly sleeping in the area, but it is unknown. This morning the caller attempted to confront the subject and they sped off. The vehicle is a green Toyota 4-Runner.

3:39 p.m. Quincy. A caller requests info on file that a subject drove past his residence very slow. The caller provided a first name for the subject in a gold-colored sedan.

HUGE project- you got a work order for that?

4:42 p.m. Keddie. A caller reports that someone cut down 40 power poles in the campground and stole all the copper wires.

Not my neighbor’s keeper

4:46 p.m. Chester. A caller reports that his neighbor attacked him. The caller stated the subject put his hands on his throat and then kicked him. Both parties are separated. The subject returned to his residence and the caller left in his vehicle. There were no weapons. 7:43 p.m. The subject was arrested on charges of assault and battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine.

Dig in! Be my guest! or No, I do not have any Dijon mustard

10:36 p.m. Quincy. A caller advised he drove by a known person’s house and his garage door and door to inside the house were open and there is a large bear inside the garage. The caller requested we scare the bear away and make sure the subject is aware there is a bear there, so he doesn’t walk into his garage. 10:43 p.m. The subject was contacted and advised the bear was eating from his freezer, but he was able to scare him away.
