'Seen It All': Cat Caught Dragging Bed Through House to Nap With Dogs

A cat carrying its bed to nap with the family dogs is warming hearts all over the internet.

A video shared on TikTok by Ashlee Monique (@ashlee.monique) in June shows a black-and-white cat dragging its bed by the mouth through the house. Seemingly filmed on a security camera or pet cam, the footage shows Charlotte the cat trekking through multiple rooms with her bed.

Eventually, the feline makes it to the porch and slips under the wooden doggy gate so she can nap with two German Shepherds—one of which runs over to help drag the bed through the gate under the door.

Alongside the clip, Ashlee wrote: "Now I've seen it all! My cat moving her bed to the porch to be with my dogs, isn't that the sweetest thing ever!! She loves them so much."

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), dogs and cats are not rivals by nature. However, the animals' innate traits can cause problems.

A dog's hunting instinct—the same instinct that drives a canine to chase a ball—means the animal is likely to see a house cat as prey and pursue it. A cat's natural instinct is to flee, so it takes socialization to overcome this dynamic.

Communication is also an issue. When a dog wags its tail, it's happy. When a cat wags its tail, it's irritated. This mismatch in signals can lead to fights, but it is possible to develop a friendly relationship between dogs and cats.

When it comes to integration, the AKC recommends introducing a younger animal—whether a puppy or a kitten—to an older animal or adopting a puppy and a kitten at the same time for best results.

At the request of users in the comments, Ashlee uploaded a second video showing Wednesday the German Shepherd helping her cat with the bed, while her other dog Lucifer watches. After a short struggle, the pair manage to get the bed from under the doggy gate.

In the third and final video, Charlotte can be seen curled up happily in her bed.

"Omg that is just too cute!" said Steph.

"This is really precious," agreed Brinacat64.

"Dream Team," wrote Kelley Sisco.

Vanessa Parsons Beve commented: "Kitty was like 'so you juss gonna stand there looking pretty or help.'"

Lazy Lucifer also has a fan club, with Lamuttluv writing: "I love how the one dog started to get involved and then went and laid down like 'I'm not sure about this.'"
